Know Your Options for Optimal Recovery
Massage therapy is important during the recovery process, but we believe massage therapy is only a part of many treatment options that can restore function, mobility, and ultimately sustain your healthcare goals. With so many alternative and complimentary healthcare choices available today it can be confusing to know which treatments and providers will best suit your needs. That is why we are dedicated to being your advocate in healthcare. If we do not feel our services can provide the best possible outcome for your restorative plan, or if we feel another treatment type would be beneficial in conjunction with your massage treatment we will discuss this with you.
Your primary care provider (PCP), whether a medical doctor, naturopath, chiropractor or other credentialed physician provides a very important portal for which your healthcare can be managed and facilitated. Communicating with your PCP enables us to provide the safest, most efficient form of treatment to address your needs. In addition, we value the trust your PCP has instilled in us to help you with your healing process, and feel a respectful obligation to keep them informed of your progress while under our care.
A physical therapist is trained in modalities and tools that are not in a massage therapist’s scope of practice, such as using an ultrasound machine and kinesio-taping. A physical therapist can also provide proper education in strengthening, stretching and self care that will extend beyond the walls of a treatment room and be incorporated into your every day life. Physical Therapy and massage therapy combined has proven to be an effective treatment choice.
Chiropractic care is a time proven modality that can restore a wide variety of ailments ranging from back pain to problems with your hands and feet. The spine is the core structure of your body and when misaligned can create signals of pain and discomfort due to irritated nerves or surrounding soft tissue. If your joints become misaligned, tight and sore muscles are a result. In turn, muscles that are tight can pull you out of alignment. Chiropractic care and massage therapy compliment each other in disrupting this cycle of pain and restoring function.
