A wellness massage (sometimes referred to as relaxation massage) focuses on improving blood flow, reducing muscle tension, facilitating joint mobility and providing stress relief and relaxation.
Essential oils are used during the massage session to promote relaxation, health and well-being. The therapeutic properties of essentials oils combined with the benefits of massage therapy work together to deliver a healing and restful experience.
- Lavender: Floral scented and relaxing, this blend helps relieve nervous tension and reduce pain.
- Breathe-Respiratory Blend: Cool and invigorating, this blend promotes the feeling of easy breathing.
- Serenity-Calming Blend: A restful complex that helps with relaxation and sleep.
Another option is Custom Blend Aromatherapy. After a thorough interview (15 minutes), essential oils are hand picked by your therapist and custom blended for your session.
During your aromatherapy enhanced massage, your therapist will add the essential oil directly to the massage gel or lotion used during your massage session. This allows the aroma to fill the air as well as being absorbed by your skin for maximum benefits.
Cupping is different than regular massage in that rather than applying pressure to muscles, the suction from heated cups uses a vacuum to pull skin, tissue and muscles upward. This can pull toxins from the tissues, break up scar tissue and adhesions and bring circulation and healing nutrients into the area being treated. Often in the area of the placed cups you will feel a sensation that is soothing and relaxing. Cups may be moved around or left in place which the practitioner will determine during your session to meet your needs.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage provides a highly relaxing and soothing experience. Water-heated basalt stones are used during the massage session to deepen relaxation and promote circulation. The heat and the weight of the stones relax the muscles and promote deep muscle access.
